School and PTA fun runs

A school fun run without the spreadsheet.

Families sign up on a web page, parents sign the waiver online, volunteers check kids in on their phones, and results go up with kids counted, never named. Built for PTA volunteers with a day job.

Free for up to 15 people · Families never pay to sign up

Built around kids

Privacy a principal can approve.

Children under 13 give only a first name at sign-up. The organizer and the check-in volunteers they authorize see it, so volunteers can find each child on race morning. Kids don’t need a phone or an account, and they never appear by name on public results. Parents choose whether their own name shows.

Teens 13 to 17 sign up with a parent or guardian too. Sponsors are never shown to them in the app.

Race day

From sign-up to last lap.

  1. Set it up

Date, start time, check-in hours, your waiver and the distance.

  2. Send it home

Share the race page in the school newsletter or on a flyer.

  3. Check in

Volunteers check families in and add walk-ups on their phones.

  4. Finish

A volunteer times the finish; you post results when ready.

School fun run fundraiser ideas

Raise more, keep all of it.

Ironstride does not collect pledges or donations, so keep the donation page your school already uses and link to it from your event. What Ironstride adds is the reason to give:

Ask local businesses to sponsor a town on the road to race day, a spot on the race-day big screen, or the finisher patch. You pay Ironstride one flat price per sponsor, and you keep 100% of what sponsors pay you. Thank up to three sponsors free on sign-up, results and emails.

Give families a goal before race day. For up to four weeks, everyone who joins in the app moves along one shared road that ends at your start line, like your town to the beach, and the whole school can watch the miles add up. Grades or classes can be race-day teams, shown in A to Z order, never ranked.

What it costs

One price for the whole school.

Free for up to 15 people. Then $49 up to 50, $79 up to 100, $149 up to 300, $249 up to 750 and $449 up to 2,000. Families never pay to sign up.

Questions

School fun run questions.

Do kids need a phone or the app?

No. Parents sign their kids up on the race page in a web browser. On race day, volunteers check kids in and time the finish on their own phones.

Who sees the children’s names?

The organizer and the check-in volunteers they authorize, and only a first name for children under 13. Public results count kids but never name them.

Can we collect pledges or donations through Ironstride?

No. Keep the donation page your school already uses and link to it from your event. Ironstride never takes a percentage of what you raise.

What about families who show up without signing up?

Volunteers add walk-ups at check-in with a name, age group, distance and an unused bib, and the parent signs the waiver on the phone.

Can teachers and families train together before race day?

Yes. Parents, teachers and students 13 and older can join the road to race day in the free app, and every workout moves the whole school toward your start line.

How much does a school fun run cost?

One price for the whole event by size: $149 for up to 300 people or $249 for up to 750, for example. Up to 15 people is free, and families never pay to sign up.
